The Quinte Arts Council presents A Shaer Production – Bellevegas 5 – featuring The Power Connection, a 14 piece Rock Horn Band, joined by special guest artists including Skipper Dean of The Platters and The Avalons, and Eric Barager and Dan Thompson of Bentwood Rocker.

Saturday, September 30, 7:30 pm at Maranatha, 100 College Street West in Belleville.

Also joining The Power Connection are Wendy Shaer, John Miller, Jenn Miller, and Bridget Foley in an electric evening of Rock, Soul, Motown and R&B music.

Featuring music by The Platters, Sam & Dave, Aretha Franklin, The Spencer Davis Group, Chicago, Blood Sweat & Tears, The Temptations, Bee Gees, Jackie Wilson, Steppenwolf, Van Morrison, Santana, and Joe Cocker.

Skipper Dean

Canadian Born, Nova Scotian, Skipper Dean started his singing career in the early sixties with The Fabulous Fascinations working on shows with groups such as the Young Rascals and Herman’s Hermits.  He then went to the Avalons performing on shows with Ginette Reno and Charles Aznavour. With The Platters in the 70’s, Skipper travelled throughout the U.S., Australia and New Zealand ending up in Hawaii working with Don Ho.

Since that time, Skipper has been close to home in Montreal working with artists Quincy Jones, Michael Bolton, Oliver Jones and more. His repertoire spans from the 40‘s to the 90’s and his showmanship is exemplary.

Eric Barager
Dan Thompson

Eric Barager and Dan Thompson (vocals, guitar and percussion) have worked together since 1978 when Bentwood Rocker was formed. Originally from the Belleville area, Bentwood Rocker began as The Sands Of Time in 1966. They performed at Expo ’67 and were recognized for being the youngest act to ever tour the east coast. Dan is the lead singer/front man for Bentwood Rocker and Eric is vocals, guitar and keyboards. For the past four decades he has performed countless live shows and recorded dozens of original songs, released on three albums and multiple singles. Bentwood Rocker has a new album out and continues to play select engagements in support of charitable organizations such as Rotary, Big Brothers and Sisters, Habitat for Humanity and the Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation. In the daytime he masquerades as a lawyer.
