NEW THIS YEAR Comedy for the Arts on Feb. 18, 2017.

Bring your funny Valentine to an evening of laughter and entertainment with some of the funniest comedians and hilarious performers in the region including Dan Curtis Thompson, Rebecca Reeds, Guled Abdi, James Hamilton, Jason Bremner and Caleb Gazley.  Comedy for the Arts takes place at the Belleville Club, 210 Pinnacle Street, Belleville.  Tickets are $25 or $20 for Quinte Arts Council members and can be purchased from the QAC, 36 Bridge St. E, Belleville (call 613-962-1232 to order by phone) and online . Expressions Biennial Juried Visual Art Show

May – Expressions, the Quinte Arts Council’s Biennial Juried Visual Art Show at the John M. Parrott Art Gallery, Belleville Public Library features the work of artists and artisans from throughout the Quinte region. The next Expressions will be held May 4 to June 1, 2017. Arts Recognition Awards and Mayor’s Luncheon for the Arts

Each year, the Quinte Arts Council recognizes those individuals or businesses who have made a difference to the arts in our community. Nominations are accepted until April 15. Winners are celebrated at The Mayor’s Luncheon for the Arts held in June.  Read more…

Annual General Meeting and Member Gathering

Spring – The Quinte Arts Council’s Annual General Meeting is held in the spring of each year. The meeting includes the election of the board of directors, reports on the QAC’s strategic planning initiatives, social time and networking, finger foods and entertainment. Everyone is welcome.

The Quinte Arts Council’s 50th Annual General Meeting will be held Monday, June 19, 2017, 5:30 pm at The Belleville Club, 210 Pinnacle Street, Belleville. The meeting will include: Election of Board of Directors; Presentation of Financial Statements by Dan Dickinson, Wilkinson & Co.; Recognition of board and honourary members who served QAC in its early years; Social time and networking ; Finger foods and cash bar; Live entertainment. Art in the Community Visual Arts Show and Sale

Every 3 Months – These art exhibits change every 3 months, and showcase the works of area artists and artisans in the QAC’s Gallery and Gift Shop (36 Bridge St. E., Belleville, ON) and in non-traditional venues, to raise awareness for, and sell the work of, local artists and artisans.  Read more…

World Music and Dance

Fall and/or Spring – Each year the QAC offers a World Music and Dance performance and workshop, providing performing arts experiences to students which they may otherwise not be exposed to.  This program is free to students in Quinte. Read more…

QAC Fundraiser

Fall – The QAC has held a fundraising event in the fall for many years – the Holiday Gala and the Festival of Trees. In 2014 we held the first BelleVegas Variety Show and Bellevegas Hip for the Holidays at the Empire Theatre in Belleville. In 2015, it was BelleVegas III- Hipper than Ever! and the 2016 show was Bellevegas IV, The Big Band Sessions. Details about the 2017 show will be coming soon. These fabulous variety shows feature musicians and singers performing with band leader, Dan Shaer and his Variety, The Dance and Show Band. Each singer picks songs from Variety’s extensive playlist, then takes to the stage with the band for an incredible night of music and entertainment. Read more…
