I once had a small Scooby Doo trophy as a child that read, " I'll try anything once", and when it comes to artwork, the trophy couldn't be more accurate. Acrylics are my current favourite, but I have been known to do the occasional charcoal, pencil or oil pastel piece. Sometimes I even go outside the box and use broken balloons, crayons, scraps of wallpaper or the leaky pen from a glove box.
However; no matter the medium, my focus is always to capture the feeling and personality of my subject, whether it is a person, animal, object or landscape. I am a member of the Belleville Art Association and the Quinte Arts Council.
Abstract pieces are my current passion, but I also do commissioned pet portraits I call Mutt Shots.
I live in Hastings County, On, in a 150 year old limestone home, situated on approximately 4 acres of land. There are trees of every kind, birds of every species, four legged wildlife as well. The landmarks are rustic and the sunsets are breathtaking. The nights twinkle with stars and fireflies. So many subjects to sketch and paint….and I have only just begun.
