The Quinte Arts Council’s Annual General Meeting is held in the summer of each year. The meeting includes the election of the board of directors, reports on the QAC’s strategic planning initiatives, social time and networking, finger foods and entertainment. Everyone is welcome. Arts Recognition Awards and Luncheon for the Arts DATE AND LOCATION TBD

Each year, the Quinte Arts Council recognizes those individuals or businesses who have made a difference to the arts in our community. Nominations are accepted until (note new deadline date) June 8. Winners are celebrated at The Luncheon for the Arts which will be held in September. Details and nomination forms available in spring 2020.


Culture Days

September – Culture Days raises the awareness, accessibility, participation and engagement of Canadians in the arts and cultural life of their communities. Culture Days is a collaborative initiative that welcomes your participation. The event is held the last weekend of September. Read more…

MAY: Quinte en Plein Air POSTPONED TO 2021

The Quinte en Plein Air 2020 Festival is a four-day juried competition from Thursday, May 28 to Sunday, May 31, 2020, where artists leave their studios behind to paint and showcase their work outdoors. Prizes total over $4,000. Artists have the opportunity to capture beautiful images of historic downtown Belleville, the shores of the Bay of Quinte, the famous ‘Old East Hill,’ the Moira River, and numerous other painting locations in the Quinte region.  For more information and to register, click here.

MAY: Expressions Biennial Juried Visual Art Show (Returns 2021)


Expressions, the Quinte Arts Council’s Biennial Juried Visual Art Show at the J.M. Parrott Art Gallery, Belleville Public Library, features the work of artists and artisans from throughout the Quinte region. The next Expressions will be held in 2021.

DECEMBER 2019: Knudsen Brady Clark Advisory Group – CIBC Wood Gundy – Quinte Branch presents The Sultans of String Live at The Empire Theatre. Three-time JUNO Award nominees Sultans of String deliver an exuberant performance featuring band originals, world-music inspired classics, and seasonal favourites to warm your heart on a cold winter’s night.
