Belleville Art Association

The Belleville Art Association was formed in 1958 and since then has been dedicated to creating a community of artists supporting and promoting the visual arts in the city of Belleville and all surrounding areas. The Belleville Art Association operates a gallery at 208 Front Street, Belleville which is open Tuesday – Saturdays 10:00 a.m. – 4 p.m. displaying original work by members in all media.
Members can also display and sell their work through our sponsorship program. The BAA hangs work at a variety of local agencies, professional offices and businesses. Once a year the BAA in partnership with the John M Parrott Gallery at the Belleville Public Library hosts a juried show open only to members. Professional jurors offer critiques to all who enter.
There is an open studio session at the gallery every Wednesday from 9:30 am – 12:30 pm. The Association also runs a variety of workshops through the year with internationally known artists, as well as local instructors.
General meetings are held once a month and monthly newsletters keep members informed of events. The Association offers a variety of artistic experiences including: paint outs, bus trips to galleries, and community art events. The BAA has an extensive library of both print and visual media available for members’ use.
Our membership includes artists with various levels of experience. Beginning artists have many opportunities to interact and learn from more established members. Artists at all levels will find a supportive community eager to share their knowledge, expertise and creative journey.
Membership is open to everyone – painter or non, beginner or experienced, regardless of where they live. Membership fees are $75 per calendar year which can be paid on an installment plan. For additional $15 you can add your work to the on-line gallery at the BAA website.
