Elaine Taranu is a Montreal born artist who has worked most of her life in Montreal and Toronto for the not for profit, charitable sector. She has lived in Montreal, Bogota, Toronto, Ottawa, Napanee and is now established in Trenton with her husband. She is by and large a self-taught artist who enjoys learning and discovering from other artists and strives to master the complexities of painting. She has expanded her style in the past fifteen years to include, charcoal, acrylic, enamel and oil paintings. Elaine has exhibited her work in Ottawa, Greely, Manotick and Napanee, or duo exhibits and has been the invited guest artists at Zenergy Gallery. VIDA designs uses her paintings to create clothes and she has completed several commissioned portraits. Elaine is also involved with the Greater Napanee and Area Arts Association, having played a critical part in its inception and its continuing leadership.
