I was born in Bannockburn ON. not far from where I grew up in Madoc . My first experience in art was winning a Remembrance Day Poster contest when i was in Public school. Then 20 years later I got back into art, donating a painting on an adirondack chair for a charity auction. Then a 12′x12′ mural for a non profit organization who provided housing and support for men with addictions In Grande Prairie AB. While working in the oil sands I entered a logo contest for the company i was working for and took second place. Ultimately changing my views on my ability to convey and express my talent in art. Which has led me down a path to the present where I’m in a position to express that ability on a daily basis.
I find great inspiration from works by Van Gogh, The Group of Seven, and Tom Thomson. But nothing compares to the inspiration I find from the changing climate and colours found in nature. Along with the challenges of portraying such changes is ultimately the most gratifying gift in creating such a scene.
