Month of June: 2nd Annual Everyone Under the Rainbow (Virtual) Show ** NOW LIVE HERE **

June is Pride month, a time when LGBTQ+ communities around the world celebrate the freedom to be themselves. And so the Quinte Arts Council is proud to host the second annual Everyone Under the Rainbow show.

While the QAC gallery is still closed, we invite you to a virtual celebration to share your photographs or art that reflects, respects, features and speaks to the LGBTQ+ community.

Work should be original, current/on theme and completed within the past five years. Submitted images will be featured online throughout the month of June. (Please upload high res images.)

Our intention is to foster new connections with artists in the LGBTQ+ community in Quinte to provide a safe place for them to showcase and celebrate their art. Because everyone deserves a place under the rainbow.

To participate, please complete this form and upload your images here

Open until June 8 : 1 x 1 Heart of Community District Art Project ** VIRTUAL SHOW HERE **

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic we’ve learned about the power of creation and collaboration to bring joy during these uncertain times.

With this in mind, the QAC is thrilled to be a part of the 1 x 1 Heart of Community District Art Project! Join us in celebrating the light and positivity that has shone through in spite of COVID-19.

The spirit of the project is to allow the arts community an avenue to infuse the downtown with creativity during this difficult time and fill the main floor windows with images that reflect resiliency and community!

To participate, create a 1’x1′ art piece that will be shared in the windows of the Downtown District main level windows.

DETAILS:
Dimensions: 1’x1′ piece
Surface: wood board or canvas on frame (no wires or hooks needed)
Medium: Paint with outdoor weather protectant (e.g. varnish)

🗓 Deadline for submission: EXTENDED TO Monday June 8.

Deliver your finished piece(s) to the BIA office in Downtown Belleville at 1 Bridge St E (call 613-968-2242 during regular business hours or email mcuerrier@downtownbelleville.ca to arrange) OR to Gourmet Diem at 213 Front St, Belleville (open Monday through Friday 9:00 – 4:00 and Saturday 10:00 -2:00).

All 1x1s will be displayed in the Downtown District main floor windows starting June 12 into July. In August, artwork will be moved to an outdoor display.

Please note: this is limited to Bay of Quinte artists. This is not a competition and there is no compensation for the artist.

There is, however, the opportunity for artwork to be sold or sponsored for a set price of $100.
