Jonathan Maracle
Founder, Singer/Songwriter of Broken Walls, a Faith based Indigenous Band based in Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory, Ontario Canada.
Jonathan Maracle is from Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory and is the lead singer and initiator of Broken Walls. The band is made up of three individuals – Jonathan, Kris DeLorenzi from Thunder Bay and Bill Pagaran from Palmer, Alaska.
Their songs have strong cultural roots of the First Nations people of North America. They have released 8 albums as Broken Walls. The Path, The Father’s Dance, Drum Created for Worship, Beautiful Great One, Ride the Wind (live), Clearly Hear His Voice, Rise Up Mighty Warrior and self titled Broken Walls. As well as 2 Native Wind Flute albums under the name Ohwihsha (meaning Breath) called Healing Winds and The Clearing.
Jonathan Maracle himself released a Christmas Flute Album called “Christmas On Turtle Island” which won Instrumental Album and Flute Album of the Year with The People’s Choice Music Awards.
