Maury Flunder

CMA, CPA, Treasurer

Maury was born and raised in Belleville. He earned a Bachelor of Commerce from McMaster University in 1993 and obtained his CMA/CPA designation in 2000. From 1996 to 2008, he worked at Nortel in Belleville, where he first experienced the Quinte Arts Council’s strong connection to the business community through initiatives such as the Two Weeks in May festival and the rotating local art displays featured on Nortel’s walls.

Maury served on the Quinte Arts Council Board of Directors from 2019 to 2024, holding the position of Treasurer. He is also an active volunteer with Quinte Film Alternative, where he contributes as a board member and Treasurer, helping to bring the best of Canadian and international cinema to the region.

His commitment to community extends to the Downtown Belleville Business Improvement Area, where he has served both as Chair and board member. As a heritage building owner, he has supported a wide range of local festivals and events over the past 15 years—including contributing the occasional ice sculpture.
