As an art lover and collector, my interests are eclectic – an exploration of colours, shapes and textures. After a successful career as a corporate executive, I joined the artistic community as a sculptor, my favourite art form. I found my passion and myself in the world of fine art. I invite you to explore my beautiful and intriguing stone and assemblage sculptures.
Sculpture, unlike other art forms, has multiple sides, angles, views, and needs to work with light in many different ways. It’s a very sophisticated art form and artistic expression. I’ve been collecting and appreciating art for most of my life and these are some of the reasons why sculpture has become my favourite.
I naturally think in 3D, a gift that few people share. I can see things in the raw stone, and find the best way to bring them to life. I continually assess the sculpture as it evolves, working on each side with equal intensity. I want each side of the sculpture to draw people’s interest, over and over.
Artists are fundamentally at one with the art we create. Everything we do is a sum of all our experiences, how we see the world around us, and what we find aesthetically and visually interesting. I’ve developed a vast knowledge of art and art history, which encourages my own creativity, and helped me become a confident sculptor. I understand colour, balance, and how to present different images, textures, and shapes. My sculptures are an expression of my life and artistic experiences and are an extension of my knowledge about what transforms a sculpture into a successful artistic statement.
