Founded in 1960 as the Eastern Ontario Concert Orchestra, Quinte Symphony is an integral part of the arts scene in Belleville. They are a volunteer-based orchestra who perform standard orchestral music as well as Canadian compositions. Having a symphony in a community is a great achievement for the arts. Having one that has lasted for over 60 years says a lot about the desire in Quinte for orchestral music.
The Quinte Symphony educational outreach includes free family concerts and in-school workshops for students to garner an appreciation for musical instruments.
