Quinte Woodcarvers Celebrate 35th Annual Exhibition with Exciting New Features

The Quinte Woodcarvers Association (QWCA) is proud to present its 35th Annual Woodcarvers Exhibtion on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at the Quinte Wellness Centre in Belleville. This beloved event brings together carvers and art enthusiasts from across the region to celebrate the creativity, craftsmanship, and community spirit that define the world of woodcarving.
The QWCA, a longstanding pillar of the region’s arts community, was formed decades ago by a group of passionate carvers. The Association has grown into a welcoming hub for woodworkers of all skill levels. The group meets regularly to share techniques, offer guidance, and foster the love of this timeless craft.
Exciting new things are happening this year!
One of the highlights will be a special stone carving demonstration by renowned artist Doug Stephans of Campbell Monuments. Stephans will showcase how incorporating a soapstone base can enhance the presentation of your wood carvings. The seminar runs from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. in a dedicated space. Pre-registration is suggested, and the cost is just $5.
For some friendly competition, QWCA is hosting a Golf Ball Carving Contest. Participants will receive a prepared golf ball to transform into a miniature masterpiece. Space is limited, so sign up early to take part!
Dan Marquez of Electrodent will also be in attendance, offering on-site assessments for power carver repairs. While he may not have parts on hand to complete repairs during the show, he can take your tool with him and arrange for pick-up after servicing.
This year, a $2 admission fee will help support the ongoing success of the show.
The event will also feature the presentation of the Bruce Lepper Award for Best Songbird, open to entries from all divisions.
Don’t miss the always-popular Silent Auction, filled with fantastic items donated by generous supporters.
Important notice for Duck Decoy Purchase Award participants: this year’s parameters now include Confidence birds in the duck decoy category.
