The County Comedy Project Showcase

Comedy Country, dedicated to promoting and supporting Canadian comedic talent, is back in Prince Edward County for its eleventh season—and it’s shaping up to be their most ambitious yet. With thirteen live shows slated between July and December, the 2025 lineup promises to have you rolling on the floor laughing. With a wide mix of iconic and first-time-performers, Comedy Country has something for everyone’s comedic taste.

The season kicked off with The County Comedy Project Showcase, the grand finale of an eight- week comedy boot camp for first-time performers. On June 26th, eleven courageous locals made their stand-up debut to a packed house at the Baxter Arts Centre in Bloomfield.

A new series, Comedy Country at The CAPE, features six monthly Wednesday-night showcases bringing together comedic talent from Montreal, Toronto, and Prince Edward County. It’s your mid-week ticket to discover hidden gems and rising stars.

In July, Middle Raged takes the stage—“the show that even sciatica couldn’t stop.” Fresh off a run with Mirvish Productions, Geri Hall and Gary Pearson hilariously explore life between thirty and sixty-five, where the bloom may be off the rose but the thorns are sharper than ever.

In August, three comedy veterans reunite for A Perfectly Reasonable Night of Comedy. Carolyn Taylor, Pat Kelly, and Peter Oldring—alumni of The Second City—bring their uniquely absurd and clever perspectives to a rare and delightfully offbeat variety show. Don’t miss this powerhouse trio in action.

Ali Hassan: Does This Taste Funny? follows Hassan’s journey from culinary hopeful to comedy star. With wit and warmth, he shares how a life of cooking dreams took an unexpected detour—thanks to parental expectations, four kids, and a thriving comedy career. Think Eat, Pray, Love, minus the prayer.

Closing out the year with sparkle and silliness, Holiday Hijinx offers a festive feast of improv, sketch, and stand-up. Featuring Short Attention Spa, Silver + Gold, and guest appearances from The County Comedy Project, this County holiday show promises to have you laughing all the way into 2026.

“This season is a full-circle celebration of what makes Comedy Country great—an unbeatable mix of local talent and national headliners in some of the coolest corners of The County,” says Executive Director Paul Snepsts. “If you’ve never been to Comedy Country, this is the season to start.”

With more events still to be announced, Comedy Country’s 2025 season is packed with punchlines and surprises. Keep your eyes peeled, your ears open, and get ready to laugh long and loud all year long.
