Hastings County Concert Band

The band only operates from mid June to mid September. There are 4 performances of challenging and musically satisfying music booked from July to September. Three of theses are fundraising concerts for local charities.

Established in the summer of 2022, the “County Band” is the newest community concert band in the region. Our mission is to provide local skilled musicians the chance to rehearse and perform a wide variety of music, while offering (donations accepted) concerts of  entertaining music to the residents  of Hastings County and the region.

We are a local registered not-for-profit organization OCN: 1001117245 that gives back to the community with the combined musical talent of our members. The band’s wide selection of repertoire includes movie music, dramatic overtures, popular vocal tunes, memorable melodies from Broadway, stirring marches, and  more.

Our members come from all backgrounds, from gigging professional musicians, music teachers to accountants and retirees to high school students, but the one thing they have in common is their passion for music.

One of the strengths of our musical organization is the focus of our Director of Music, John Monachan, who concentrates on the basic elements of music including tuning, dynamics, rhythm, balance and more. It has resulted in a dynamic concert band that performs entertaining and memorable programs while presenting a wide variety of musical styles, from Broadway to pop and classics to marches. His background as a retired Air Force musician brings an experience to the group evident in the recordings found on our Youtube channel HastingsCountyConcertBand – YouTube
