Michelle Hutchinson is a mixed-media visual artist located in Southeastern, Ontario. She comes from a creative family where each person had their own artistic passion and naturally took to painting. After a career in entrepreneurship, marketing communications, learning, technical writing and process improvement, she dedicated her post-retirement years to painting.
Michelle uses painting to reflect on life experiences and her spiritual journey. She finds inspiration in the views of the lakes, rivers, open skies, trees, flowers and fields surrounding her studio, and she loves to paint with bright colours that inspire joy and convey an essence of resiliency.
Michelle’s favourite medium to work with is fluid acrylic paint because of its wide range of effects. Experimenting with new mark-making tools, interesting textures, and expressive colours makes the painting process interesting and keeps her from getting into a rut. Michelle’s paintings are one-of-a-kind, and she hopes each will bring joy and light to other people’s homes. Her most recent project is an ongoing series of floral paintings.
